We’ve been making delicious pork pies here in Yorkshire since 1928, and we’re often asked about the ethos behind our brand and how we go about creating our pies. We thought we’d answer some of the most common questions to give you an insight into life here at Vale of Mowbray!
What ingredients do you use?
Our pork pies are made with simple, honest and delicious ingredients. We use hot water crust pastry, tender, cured pork and a secret blend of seasoning to create a unique flavour.
Some of our pies have added ingredients – like the eggs in our Grovesnor pie or our cheese & pickle variety. Whatever the combination, lots of care and attention goes into making sure each of our pies is baked to perfection.
Do you have new flavours planned?
We have a dedicated development team here at Vale, tasting all of our pies and experimenting with new flavours. We particularly love to work with other Yorkshire producers to showcase the very best food the region has to offer. In other words, watch this space!
Where can I buy Vale of Mowbray pork pies?
Our pork pies are available in selected Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores, as well as Nisa Local shops. We’re also stocked in lots of independent butchers and deli’s, like Crawshaws.
