No glamping adventure is complete without a pork pie!

No glamping adventure is complete without a pork pie!

The sun keeps popping in and out and whenever it shines, we always get the camping itch. There’s few places as beautiful as Yorkshire in the summertime, so we’ve come up with our top glamping spots – because everyone loves a hair wash and a comfy bed…

Swinton BivouacĀ

A good option if you want to get a few friends together, are the Rustic Tree Lodges nestled into the woodland on Swinton Estate. Each lodge can host up to seven guests – perfect peaceful getaway for a larger group. Looking like something from a film, these would be a fun break in either summer or in winter when we can imagine it all being very cosy! They do have a range and gas hob, with water able to be heated by a wood burner. However personally we think it’s best to spend the time making fun cocktails to drink with friends! Skip the stressful cooking for seven people by simply having a pork pie – in the winter just heat up some mushy peas for a quick and delicious meal!

At Swinton Bivouac there are also luxury ‘Meadow Yurts’ which have a beautiful view of the North Yorkshire countryside – sleeping up to five people in each Yurt, there’s no electricity to these, so taking food that will be delicious cold is a must, followed by a s’more roasted on the campfire.

Humble Bee Farm

The Deluxe Bell Tents in East Yorkshire look like the ultimate blend of luxury whilst still camping. Staying in a bell tent made of cotton canvas, whilst sleeping on a comfy double bed makes sure the experience is a good one – no bad backs here! Honestly, the decor of this one intrigues us – who doesn’t want to stay here with cute furniture and rustic touches! This is a good choice for anyone that wants to cook food on a proper stove – outside the tent there’s a kitchenette so you can cook in all weathers and there’s electric sockets in the shower block for anyone reluctant to give up technology completely.

Shepherd’s Delight

If you fancy getting off the grid for a couple of days, Shepherd’s Delight between Ripon and Harrogate in North Yorkshire could be your top choice. Hidden in it’s own woodland with your only visitors being wildlife, it appears to be the perfect place to escape. The wood burning hot tub looks like a fabulous luxury in the idyllic setting. Since there’s only a wood burning stove however, we think it’d be best to not rely on this for your stay – the perfect getaway can be slightly ruined if you’re hungry the whole time because you burnt the dinner – trust us. A safe option is to bring a pack of pork pies and sandwiches and just warm up some accompaniments such as mushy peas – or perhaps just a simple salad!

Yurtshire

With multiple locations around Yorkshire, Yurtshire looks like a unique experience – with rustic and cosy interiors, they have comfy double beds for ultimate luxury, whilst keeping close to nature with stunning Yorkshire views! Each Yurt has a double bed, double and single futon and private kitchen facilities meaning you can have a group of friends or family all together for a weekend of glamping fun! Lanterns, tea lights and wood burning stoves will provide lighting during the evening. There’s no electricity to the Yurts – giving the feeling you’re really out with nature!
