Looking for a Yorkshire Staycation?
We hope you’re all doing well and enjoying the (admittedly slightly rainy) Yorkshire summer. Planning a staycation over the next few months? We thought we’d show you some of our favourite ideas for a Yorkshire staycation.
Grab your picnic baskets to enjoy in the countryside and your pack of favourite Vale of Mowbray pork pies (a picnic necessity) and lets go on an adventure…
North Star Club
Described as a “magical woodland retreat” it sounds pretty great to us right now. Based in the Yorkshire Wolds, there’s different “escapes” from woodland suites to glamping escapes. Nearby, there’s lots of things to do, obviously explore the surroundings on beautiful walks, go golfing at KP club, visit nearby Sledmore and Burton Agnes Hall (depending on if they’re open.) There’s also nearby Flamborough Head, about 30 minutes away or York; about an hour away.
There’s lots of Yurts with beautiful views of Yorkshire from the Wensleydale Experience. You’ll notice many of our staycation options within Yorkshire are quite secluded which is what you want for a relaxing staycation right? These yurts are no different, with panoramic views of Yorkshire and all the time in the world to go on a nice walk then come back and unwind with a good book and perhaps a good pork pie and craft beer treat!
Get back to basics with just a good old camping trip. There’s lots of camp sites to visit around Yorkshire and the freedom that comes with packing your tent in the car or in your bag on the bus, that’s pretty unparalleled. Take a look at the link below and see 200+ camp sites around Yorkshire. From the coasts to the dales and beyond – where will you escape to?
Book a hotel stay
For some luxury hospitality, you can take your pick of so many fabulous Yorkshire hotels. Take your pick of area and there’s bound to be a fantastic hotel there. Try Rudding Park in North Yorkshire for a luxury break or some serviced apartments if you’re looking for a full package where you can take a break but still cook for yourselves. We found this Telegraph article which has some top hotels around Yorkshire to take a look through.
Where will your staycation adventures take you? There’s always so much to explore, why not visit some of Yorkshire’s natural wonders? Or take a walk along the coast to enjoy the scenery. We’re excited to go on our staycations, pack our cars full to the brim of board games, books and food. We’ll take a brisk morning walk and then settle down to a picnic with our favourite pork pies (currently mini pork and pickle are our favourite for picnics if you were wondering.)
